Arlir Amado advises clientele that are as diverse as his interests. His clients include global multi-national corporations, international businesses which must be able to navigate intellectual property both in the United States and across multi-jurisdictions, entrepreneurs and cutting-edge innovators. These clients a present wide range of technology sectors, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemicals, nutraceuticals, traditional medicine, medical devices, semiconductors, electronics, consumer products, and business methods. As Director, Arlir leads the Chemical and Biotechnology Group and assists clients by preparing and prosecuting patent applications, client counseling through due diligence, freedom to practice, invalidity and noninfringement opinions, and preparing and prosecuting post-grant challenges. As lead of the Trademark Group at KramerAmado, Arlir counsels client with regard to trademark availability, prosecution and acquisition, and trademark Oppositions.

KramerAmado’s reigning polyglot (English, Spanish, and French), Arlir has traveled to and works with clients through North and South America, Europe and Asia. He understands the importance of all forms of Intellectual Property to the modern international and multi-national business and advises his clients from a global perspective.

Arlir plays lead guitar in the KramerAmado band and is KramerAmado’s resident guide to Washington D.C. He is a member of the George Washington University Law School Intellectual Property Advisory Board and an active member in the G.W. alumni community. Arlir and his wife Angie host the yearly KramerAmado hike in Shenandoah National Park.
